About the role

Role Overview

Cloud Architect to provide technical leadership and governance for enterprise cloud operations in a federal/mission-critical environment.

Note: This position is contingent upon contract award and position availability. Public Trust is required (and Active Public Trust and/or DHS Suitability is preferred). U.S. citizenship or U.S. national status is required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee enterprise cloud operations, ensuring environments are securely provisioned, configured, monitored, and lifecycle managed per agency policies.
  • Participate in Enterprise Architecture and Governance, aligning cloud architectures and operational implementations across IT and OT environments.
  • Maintain and contribute to architecture artifacts, governance documentation, and configuration standards for compliant cloud operations.
  • Coordinate monitoring, incident response, and production support to deliver reliable, resilient, and secure cloud services.
  • Partner with engineering/operations to support testing of production deployments, ensuring readiness, stability, and compliance with change and release practices.
  • Support integration of cloud operations with enterprise change, configuration, and release management processes (without direct ownership).
  • Ensure cloud platforms/services are integrated into disaster recovery, continuity of operations, and testing across on-prem, cloud, and hybrid.
  • Oversee cloud cost and consumption management, providing visibility, reporting, and optimization recommendations.
  • Support ITSM/ITOM objectives by aligning cloud operations with service delivery frameworks and continuous improvement.
  • Track and report service performance vs. SLAs to drive continuous service improvement.

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust (Active Public Trust and/or DHS Suitability preferred).
  • U.S. citizenship or U.S. national status required.
  • Demonstrated experience architecting and supporting enterprise cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) in a federal/enterprise setting.
  • Demonstrated experience leading a team of engineers.
  • Hands-on cloud operations experience: provisioning, monitoring, lifecycle management.
  • Experience supporting incident response and production operations in a 24/7 or mission-critical environment.
  • Experience coordinating change management, configuration management, and release processes.
  • Working knowledge of cloud security and compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, FedRAMP) and how to apply them.
