About the role
Role Overview
Cloud Architect (Managed Services) for a consulting partner, delivering Azure-focused architecture leadership across multiple client engagements in the United States. The role blends hands-on technical authority, client advisory leadership, presales support, and mentoring to ensure scalable, secure solutions and consistent delivery quality.
Responsibilities
- Provide architectural leadership for managed services engagements, ensuring delivery quality, technical alignment, and client satisfaction.
- Partner with managed services leadership to coordinate service delivery and improve cross-service collaboration.
- Support presales teams by aligning solution design with delivery capabilities and expectations.
- Participate in architectural governance discussions for complex Azure-based solutions and delivery approaches.
- Coach and mentor engineers and delivery teams (player-coach), supporting upskilling and technical growth.
- Resolve delivery blockers and support project execution to maintain engagement momentum and billable targets.
- Facilitate change management (scope adjustments and project extensions) with solution architects.
- Drive alignment across cloud practices to maintain cohesive architecture across domains and client environments.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience across engineering, cloud operations, or technical consulting.
- Deep, hands-on Microsoft Azure expertise (compute, networking, storage, virtualization).
- Experience designing and deploying infrastructure using Azure Portal and Infrastructure-as-Code.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, scripting, and automation frameworks.
- Knowledge of Azure governance tooling (cost management, policy, Security Center, monitoring/log analytics).
- Proven ability to lead technical delivery across multiple client engagements in consulting/managed services.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for complex cloud environments.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in distributed, virtual-first teams.
