About the role
Role Overview
Leidos Health and Services is seeking a Cloud Architect to design, develop, and integrate cloud architectural features into existing cloud infrastructures. The role focuses on maintaining the integrity and security of enterprise cyber systems and networks while applying cybersecurity standards and best practices.
Eligibility/Contingency: This position is contingent upon contract award and requires US citizenship, current presence in the United States, and the ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead enterprise cloud architecture design, development, and integration across AWS, Azure IL4/High, MuleSoft GovCloud, and hybrid environments.
- Apply federal cybersecurity standards, directives, and policies to ensure compliance, integrity, and security.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to refine business and technical requirements and deliver secure, scalable, balanced cloud solutions.
- Perform security audits and gap analyses of applications and cloud infrastructure; recommend remediation aligned with industry best practices and compliance needs.
- Design architectures for high availability, scalability, cost optimization, and disaster recovery, including RTO (Recovery Time Objective).
- Build infrastructure automation using Terraform and Packer.
- Establish and optimize CI/CD pipelines and deployment strategies to reduce downtime and support zero-downtime where feasible.
- Conduct architectural reviews and impact assessments covering security, cost, scalability, performance, and operational resilience.
- Support incident response and produce post-incident analysis with improvement recommendations.
- Partner with engineering, cybersecurity, and operations to resolve architecture-related issues during integration, testing, and deployment.
- Participate in enterprise architecture governance and review boards.
- Provide guidance on cloud cost management/resource optimization without harming mission performance.
- Support disaster recovery planning, testing, and execution.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/IT or related field, or 4 additional years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
- 5–8 years of enterprise-level cloud architecture experience.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification (required).
- Strong knowledge of multi-tier cloud and hybrid architectures, including data privacy, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
- Knowledge of DOW information security principles and Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements.
- Experience with enterprise application integration technologies.
- Strong DevOps knowledge including CI/CD, infrastructure as code, test automation, and configuration management.
- Experience designing high-availability and disaster recovery architectures.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Nice to Have
- Cloud security certification (preferred).
