About the role
Role Overview
As a Cloud Architect at Keyfactor, you will design, architect, and validate new and enhanced multi-cloud security-focused hosting architectures. You’ll work with cloud architecture leadership and teams to drive modernization, migration, and POC-to-implementation for cloud-based environments.
Responsibilities
- Architect scalable, highly available, security-focused multi-cloud hosting solutions.
- Create platform modernization and migration strategies for existing IaaS/PaaS/containers environments.
- Partner with architecture teams to run proofs of concept (POCs) and implement designs.
- Optimize performance, troubleshoot complex system issues, and perform deep technical analysis.
- Build solutions using automation tools such as Bicep and Ansible.
- Document systems and maintain policies, guidelines, and SOPs.
- Develop test protocols/plans for cloud-hosted application version testing.
- Troubleshoot application/database performance issues involving connectivity, access, and security.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience with architecture, design, configuration, and deployment on Microsoft Azure.
- Ability to create and present architectural concepts and designs.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to think critically to identify root causes.
- Extensive networking and firewall design/configuration knowledge.
- Security best practices across infrastructure, applications, IAM, and data platforms.
- Strong knowledge of Azure SQL / SQL Server and related database technologies.
- Effective communication and ability to work with organizational leadership.
Nice to Have
- Automation experience with ARM Templates, Terraform, and/or DSC.
- Experience with Kubernetes and components such as Istio and ArgoCD.
- Experience with OpenSearch, Kafka, and/or MongoDB.
- Security tooling experience (e.g., SIEM, WAF, NGAV).
- Relevant Azure and other cloud certifications.
Logistics
- Location: United States (Remote permitted for EST or CST).
- Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship required.
- Travel: Up to 10% travel.
