Cloud Infrastructure Architect (AWS)

Role Overview

You will lead AWS application modernization and migration initiatives for large-scale environments. This role sits in the Cloud Center of Excellence (Cloud CCoE), partnering with application teams to design future-state architectures and accelerate cloud adoption using modern AWS-native services.

Responsibilities

Design enterprise AWS platforms and reusable infrastructure patterns
Develop and communicate migration roadmaps and target-state architectures
Conduct 6R assessments to determine appropriate modernization/migration strategies
Lead container/platform modernization efforts
Architect secure networking across multiple applications/environments
Migrate enterprise messaging systems to AWS
Produce architecture artifacts for governance and documentation, including:
- Architectural Decision Records (ADRs)
- Technical blueprints and solution diagrams
- Architecture governance documentation
Design multi-region disaster recovery architectures (e.g., Active-Active, Warm Standby, Pilot Light)

Required Qualifications

Expert-level AWS CDK experience using TypeScript
Strong understanding of AWS Architecture best practices and Well-Architected principles
Proven experience with Amazon ECS Fargate for container modernization
Migration experience from:
- Virtual Machines
- PCF/Pivotal Cloud Foundry
- Legacy application environments
Experience with Amazon EKS using self-managed node groups
Hands-on architecture experience with AWS VPC Lattice
Migration experience for enterprise messaging systems from TIBCO EMS/RV to Amazon MSK
Strong documentation and governance experience (ADRs, blueprints, diagrams)

Nice to Have

AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional
Experience in regulated industries (e.g., Financial Services, Healthcare, Government)
Experience operating within large-scale AWS organizations (e.g., 300+ AWS accounts)
Experience with Cloud Center of Excellence (CCOE) and governance models
