Cloud Architect

Role: SAP Developer / Global Support Manager – Cloud & Data Engineering Architect

The consultant will design and implement enterprise cloud and data engineering solutions, provide global support, and help define architecture standards and governance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement enterprise technology solutions (10+ years experience expected).
• Architect and implement cloud-native solutions across major cloud platforms (Azure/AWS/GCP).
• Build enterprise integrations using REST APIs and event-driven/asynchronous messaging with distributed systems.
• Design and implement cloud-based enterprise data platforms (data lakes, analytics, data engineering).
• Apply Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), CI/CD, and DevOps practices to automate development and deployments.
• Ensure cloud security, identity and access management, scalability, performance optimization, monitoring, and operational support.
• Establish cloud architecture standards, technical design patterns, governance practices, and solution documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Science, or related field (or equivalent combination of education, certifications, and experience).
• 10+ years designing, developing, and implementing enterprise technology solutions.
• 7+ years designing and implementing cloud solutions and cloud-native architectures using Microsoft Azure, AWS, GCP, or comparable enterprise cloud platforms.
• Experience with enterprise integration using REST APIs, event-driven architecture, asynchronous messaging, and distributed systems.
• Experience designing/implementing enterprise data platforms using cloud data lake/analytics/data engineering technologies.
• Experience with IaC and CI/CD pipelines using Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates, or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of cloud security, IAM, scalability, performance optimization, monitoring, and operational support.
• Experience establishing architecture standards, governance practices, and solution documentation.

Preferred Skills

• Relevant certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Developer Associate, Azure Data Engineer Associate) or TOGAF Enterprise Architecture.
• Experience integrating SAP / SAP S/4HANA with ERP/HR/financial systems.
• Experience in government/public-sector or other highly regulated environments.
• Experience with Azure API Management, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Event Grid, and/or tools like Ivalua.
• Experience establishing enterprise architecture standards and cloud governance patterns.

Contract & Location

• Contract length: 12 months
• Extension: Yes
• Work mode: Fully remote with occasional onsite visits (approximately 2–4 business days per month) as directed.
• Location preference: Preferred South Carolina residency; for local resources in SC, interviews may be virtual or onsite.
