About the role
Cloud Architect — Healthcare Data Governance (Contract)
Direct Client C2C. Remote (travel required for 3 domestic client site visits during tenure; expenses paid). Contract length 4+ months with potential extension.
Responsibilities
- Design Purview multi-cloud architecture across Azure, AWS, and Snowflake.
- Create collection hierarchy and implement an RBAC model for domain-based access control.
- Develop healthcare-compliant taxonomy and classification schemes.
- Architect AI accelerators using Azure OpenAI for automated metadata tagging and extraction.
- Design end-to-end data lineage (medallion pattern: Bronze/Silver/Gold).
- Define and maintain governance policies for privacy, security, and interoperability.
- Identify compliance risks in data handling and propose mitigation strategies.
- Lead technical workshops and present architecture to CTO/CDO-level stakeholders.
- Guide implementation teams (Purview Engineers, AI Engineers, Security Lead) on complex integrations.
Requirements (Must-have)
- 10+ years cloud architecture experience (primarily Azure).
- Deep expertise with Microsoft Purview: Data Map, Information Protection, and DLP.
- Hands-on Purview experience within the last 18 months.
- Experience designing data lineage architecture and using Apache Atlas APIs.
- Healthcare/compliance expertise: healthcare data standards and related compliance.
- Experience implementing healthcare data governance models.
- Strong capability in PHI/PII protection in cloud environments.
Soft Skills
- C-level communication skills; able to present to CTO/CDO.
- Can lead technical teams remotely (US + India).
- Strong documentation and architecture diagramming.
Nice-to-have
- Experience with AI/GenAI platforms for metadata automation and intelligent classification (e.g., Azure OpenAI, LangChain, MS Copilot Studio).
- Azure OpenAI-related components such as Azure Functions and Application Insights.
- Healthcare/life sciences industry background.
- Azure Document Intelligence experience.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
