Cloud Architect (AWS/DevOps)

Location: Remote (United States)
Experience: 15–30 years (8–10+ years in cloud architecture & DevOps)

Role Overview

Own and lead cloud architecture strategy and migration programs, integrating DevOps practices to deliver secure, scalable, high-availability AWS environments aligned to client goals.

Responsibilities

Cloud Architecture & Strategy:
- Define and drive AWS cloud architecture strategy for client engagements.
- Conduct AWS Landing Zone and cloud foundation assessments for readiness, compliance, and operational excellence.
- Design scalable, secure, high-availability architectures.
Cloud Migration Leadership:
- Lead migration programs using AWS services and approaches (Cloud Migration Factory, MGN, DMS, DataSync).
- Execute application portfolio and wave planning using ModelizeIT (assessment, dependency mapping, migration wave planning).
DevOps & Automation:
- Integrate DevOps practices into cloud architectures to enable CI/CD.
- Advocate and implement automation for deployment, monitoring, and IaC.
- Use Docker and Kubernetes with modern automation frameworks.
Client Engagement & Leadership:
- Act as a trusted advisor on modern cloud trends and best practices.
- Lead technical discussions, workshops, and presentations; facilitate cross-functional sessions.
- Create architectural models/abstractions based on The Enterprise Framework™.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
15–20 years overall IT experience, including 8–10+ years in cloud architecture & DevOps.
Proven expertise with AWS (also acceptable: Azure or Google Cloud architecture experience).
Strong DevOps tooling background and CI/CD pipelines.
Hands-on experience with on-premise to AWS cloud migration.
Container/orchestration experience (Docker, Kubernetes).

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree.
Relevant certifications: AWS, Azure, GCP, DevOps.
Consulting environment experience.
Expertise in automation for infrastructure provisioning and configuration management.
Strong leadership, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
