Cloud Architect

Role Overview

Cloud Architect (Remote – USA) Design, implement, and govern secure, scalable, and resilient cloud solutions in AWS. Provide technical leadership across enterprise cloud initiatives with a security-first, compliance-driven approach aligned to industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Cloud Security Architecture & Strategy
  • Design and maintain enterprise-grade cloud architectures aligned with NIST, cloud security best practices, and regulatory requirements
  • Create secure-by-default infrastructure frameworks with least-privilege, resiliency, and governance
  • Implement CSPM solutions and integrate with SIEM, monitoring, risk management, and compliance frameworks
  • Build policy-as-code capabilities to automate security controls, compliance validation, and governance
  • Define identity/auth strategies including certificate-based service identities and fine-grained access controls
• Cloud Platform Leadership
  • Serve as a subject matter expert; mentor engineering teams and promote cloud best practices
  • Partner with Security, Compliance, Infrastructure, and application teams to deliver secure-by-design platforms
  • Support modernization/migration of legacy systems to secure cloud-native architectures
  • Provide architectural guidance for cloud operations in a global follow-the-sun support model
• DevOps & Infrastructure Automation
  • Develop Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using AWS CDK, Terraform, CloudFormation (or similar)
  • Build CI/CD pipelines with security controls, automated testing, and compliance enforcement
  • Drive DevSecOps adoption and automate provisioning, configuration management, and deployments
  • Architect containerized/scalable platforms and orchestration for modern delivery
• Observability, Reliability & Operations
  • Implement monitoring/observability using tools such as Splunk, Datadog, ELK, Fluentd
  • Define SLOs/SLIs, monitoring frameworks, and automated remediation
  • Lead incident investigations, root-cause analysis, and preventative improvements
  • Improve performance, availability, and resilience
• Application & Solution Architecture
  • Design secure microservices and API-based architectures for enterprise needs
  • Create workflows for security finding remediation and compliance reporting

Requirements

• Experience designing and governing secure AWS cloud architectures at enterprise scale
• Strong expertise in cloud security, governance, and compliance
• Hands-on knowledge of DevOps/DevSecOps and infrastructure automation
• Experience integrating CSPM with security monitoring/risk/compliance tooling
• Ability to lead and mentor engineering teams and collaborate across multiple stakeholders

Nice-to-Haves (implied from tools/standards mentioned)

• NIST-aligned security architecture and regulatory compliance experience
• Identity and access architectures (fine-grained access, certificate-based service identities)
• Observability tooling experience (Splunk/Datadog/ELK/Fluentd)
• CI/CD with security controls and automated testing
