Cloud Architect

Role Overview

Cloud Architect (Senior Azure Technical Architect) — Remote (USA) Lead the technical direction of a large-scale Azure transformation for an enterprise customer. This is a true architecture role that balances strategy and hands-on engineering, working closely with delivery teams rather than only producing documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise Azure architecture and cloud transformation programs
• Design Azure Landing Zones using Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF) and Azure Well-Architected Framework (WAF)
• Define Azure roadmaps, governance, and engineering standards
• Architect secure, scalable Azure platforms using cloud-native services
• Partner with engineering teams to deliver Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and/or Bicep
• Drive automation via Azure DevOps and GitHub CI/CD pipelines
• Architect modern services including App Services, Functions, networking, AI services, and PaaS environments
• Mentor engineers while remaining hands-on with complex technical delivery

Requirements

• Experience delivering enterprise Azure solutions across multiple customer environments (e.g., Microsoft Partner, Azure consultancy, or Azure Expert MSP)
• Strong experience in:
  • Enterprise Azure Architecture
  • Azure Landing Zones (CAF)
  • Azure Well-Architected Framework (WAF)
  • Terraform and/or Bicep
  • Azure DevOps and/or GitHub CI/CD
  • Azure networking (VNets, Private Endpoints, Private DNS)
  • Azure App Services and Azure Functions
  • Azure AI Services
  • Stakeholder management and technical leadership

Nice-to-Haves

• Deep experience with complex enterprise cloud migrations and governance-heavy Azure environments
• Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers while driving delivery outcomes

Compensation & Work Model

• $180,000 - $220,000 + comprehensive benefits
• Fully remote within the United States
