About the role

Role: Cloud Architect

Seeking a Cloud Architect to design, secure, and scale modern cloud solutions for high-impact federal initiatives. The role embeds cloud security and compliance best practices across the solution lifecycle and focuses on resilient cloud environments and modernization.

Responsibilities

Design and implement secure, scalable cloud infrastructure solutions
Lead cloud modernization and migration across enterprise environments
Develop cloud architecture standards and best practices
Partner with engineering, DevSecOps, and cybersecurity teams to deliver secure cloud solutions
Ensure compliance with federal security and regulatory requirements
Support IAM, encryption, infrastructure automation, CI/CD, and cloud operations
Assess technical risks, architecture tradeoffs, resiliency, and performance
Translate mission/business needs into scalable cloud architectures

Requirements

US citizenship and ability to obtain Public Trust clearance
Bachelor’s degree in a related field (or equivalent experience)
4+ years in cloud engineering, infrastructure architecture, or cloud architecture
Hands-on AWS cloud design experience (EKS, EC2, RDS, S3 preferred)
Exposure to Azure, especially disaster recovery and resiliency planning
Strong experience with Docker and Kubernetes (container orchestration)
Infrastructure automation using tools such as Ansible
Strong understanding of cloud networking, compute, storage, IAM, security groups, monitoring, and infrastructure design
Cloud security architecture experience: IAM, encryption, secrets management, logging, vulnerability management, secure access controls
Knowledge of compliance frameworks such as NIST, FedRAMP, FISMA, CIS benchmarks
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, AWS CDK)
Experience supporting DevSecOps pipelines and CI/CD integrations
Strong documentation and architecture/stakeholder communication skills

Nice to Have

Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, AWS Security Specialty, Azure Architect)
Familiarity with Zero Trust architecture principles
Experience supporting federal government agencies
