Cloud Architect

Role Overview

Cloud Architect to design and implement an enterprise data governance platform for a healthcare client. The project is remote with domestic travel for 3 client site visits (expenses paid). The initial engagement is 4 months and is extendable/long term.

Responsibilities

• Design Purview multi-cloud architecture across Azure, AWS, and Snowflake
• Define collection hierarchy and implement an RBAC model for domain-based access control
• Create healthcare-compliant taxonomy and classification schemes
• Architect AI accelerators (metadata tagging/extraction) using Azure OpenAI
• Design end-to-end data lineage architecture (medallion: Bronze/Silver/Gold)
• Define and maintain governance policies for privacy, security, and interoperability
• Identify compliance risks in data handling and propose mitigation strategies
• Lead technical workshops and present architecture to CTO/CDO stakeholders
• Guide implementation teams (Purview engineers, AI engineers, security lead) on complex integrations

Requirements (Must)

• 15+ years cloud architecture experience (10+ years stated as required; primarily Azure)
• Multi-cloud architecture experience: Azure + AWS
• Microsoft Purview must-have:
  • Data Map
  • Information Protection
  • DLP
  • Hands-on Purview experience within the last 18 months
• Healthcare/compliance (critical):
  • Deep understanding of healthcare data standards and compliance
  • Experience implementing healthcare data governance models
  • PHI/PII protection in cloud environments
• Snowflake + AWS S3 integration patterns
• Data lineage architecture with experience using Apache Atlas APIs

Nice to Have

• AI/GenAI platform experience: Azure OpenAI, LangChain, or Microsoft Copilot Studio
• Azure Functions, Application Insights, Azure OpenAI
• Azure Document Intelligence
• Healthcare/life sciences background

Travel / Availability

• At least 3 onsite trips during the project (domestic, expenses paid)

Interview Process (Summary)

• 2 rounds: internal (Accion Labs) then customer round (client name not disclosed)
• Technical video interview round (recorded) with guidance to avoid headphones/virtual backgrounds and use audio/video from a single device
