Cloud and AI Platform Architect - Remote

Role Overview

Lead enterprise-level technical and architectural work across cloud platform architecture, infrastructure modernization, resiliency/disaster recovery, and the organization’s emerging AI platform and ecosystem.

Responsibilities

• Drive a culture of change for cloud adoption and influence behaviors toward effective cloud service consumption.
• Lead and coordinate cloud architecture across multiple domains (e.g., AppDev, Information Management, Governance, Infrastructure, Enterprise Architecture, Security).
• Refine and execute the organization’s Cloud Strategy: define when to use cloud vs. not, and create evaluation/selection processes for cloud providers and services.
• Establish standards, reference architectures, integration environments, governance guardrails, and reusable platform capabilities.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to assess cloud risks and develop risk mitigation strategies.
• Partner to procure the most cost-effective cloud services and transition from traditional infrastructure vendors to cloud providers.
• Create governance for on-prem and cloud infrastructure in collaboration with Enterprise Architecture and other stakeholders.
• Evaluate, design, and validate cloud and infrastructure architectures with SMEs.
• Map technical components to functional and non-functional requirements and represent reference architectures within the enterprise architecture community.
• Define enterprise AI platform/ecosystem architecture, including:
  • AI infrastructure guidance
  • Agent gateway capabilities
  • Model integration patterns
  • Deployment patterns
  • Reusable shared services for secure, scalable AI adoption
• Set responsible AI architecture standards and governance guardrails, including observability, AI lifecycle management, and controls to prevent fragmented/duplicative AI solutions.
• Lead sustainable cloud/infrastructure cost optimization (right-sizing, spend visibility, cloud financial management practices) while balancing cost with reliability, security, and performance.
• Act as a system-thinking architecture leader connecting cloud, infrastructure, integration, data, security, and AI decisions across initiatives.
