Role Overview

Cleansing Crew Operator (Multiple positions)

Full-time, permanent role based in Inner-City Sydney. Help keep Sydney’s public spaces clean and vibrant by operating cleaning equipment and performing street cleansing tasks.

Responsibilities

• Clean and service footpaths, roadways, plazas, and public precincts
• Service street litter bins using manual and mechanical methods
• Conduct manual street cleaning and bulk waste removal (including illegal dumping)
• Operate and assist with maintenance of plant and street cleansing equipment, including:
  • Pressure cleaning
  • Refuse removal trucks
  • Large and small mechanical sweeping vehicles
  • Waste compactors
• Drive and operate equipment while ensuring safe operation
• Adapt to changing priorities and complete other tasks as directed

Requirements

• Physically fit and able to complete physically demanding tasks
• Demonstrated ability to perform manual street cleaning and bulk waste removal
• Ability to drive and operate plant equipment (e.g., street sweepers, waste compactors)
• Hold a current MR/HR (Medium Rigid / Heavy Rigid) driver’s licence
• Availability for weekday shifts, some weekends, and public holidays
• Proven clean driving record
• Ability to complete pre-employment health declaration and medical assessment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in waste removal
• Previous experience in the safe operation and maintenance of plant and street sweepers
