Chief of Staff

Role Overview

Quest Software is seeking a strategic, execution-oriented Chief of Staff to partner directly with the CEO. This is a high-impact operating role focused on driving the company’s most critical priorities across strategy and day-to-day execution.

Responsibilities

• Act as a strategic and operational extension of the CEO on the company’s highest-priority initiatives
• Drive enterprise-wide execution (e.g., platform consolidation, cross-sell acceleration, go-to-market transformation)
• Lead the company’s operating cadence, including:
  • executive reviews
  • KPI tracking
  • forecasting rigor
  • business performance management
• Partner cross-functionally with Product, Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Business Unit leadership to improve alignment and decision-making speed
• Identify and resolve organizational bottlenecks, competing priorities, and execution gaps
• Support commercial execution by improving:
  • pipeline management
  • segmentation strategy
  • pricing & packaging optimization
  • partner/channel effectiveness
• Collaborate with the CRO and go-to-market leadership to improve forecast accuracy and revenue predictability
• Prepare executive/board/investor communications, including board materials and strategic updates
• Lead high-impact initiatives such as M&A integration, portfolio optimization, organizational design, and market expansion
• Establish accountability frameworks and ensure follow-through on CEO priorities and key objectives
• Maintain operational discipline while staying agile in a fast-paced enterprise software environment

Requirements

• Proven experience leading a business unit, owning a P&L, or managing a significant function in enterprise software
• Strong background in enterprise software, ideally in private equity-backed software companies
• Demonstrated success driving cross-functional execution and operational transformation
• Deep understanding of enterprise go-to-market models, platform strategies, and commercial growth levers
• Strong financial and operational acumen (forecasting, pipeline management, pricing strategy, KPI development)
• Ability to operate at both strategic and tactical levels
• Exceptional executive communication, presentation, and stakeholder management
• Strong analytical/problem-solving skills with data-driven decision-making
• High accountability, urgency, and execution focus; comfortable challenging senior leadership constructively
