Chief of Staff, One Health Studio

Role Overview

Chief of Staff, One Health Studio is the operational engine of Alloy’s One Health Studio. You will work closely with the Managing Director to keep the studio and its growing portfolio moving—hands on with execution details, not just strategy.

Responsibilities

• Studio operations
  • Maintain a real-time view of progress across concepts and portfolio companies (milestones, blockers, EIR status, key partners/vendors).
  • Own the trackers, systems, and follow-ups; coordinate execution with Alloy shared services (Operations, Legal, Finance, Marketing, HR, Talent).
• Portfolio support during incubation
  • Help companies get up and running (systems onboarding, research projects).
  • Connect founders to the right resources across Alloy and the contractor network.
  • Track portfolio metrics per company.
• Founder and EIR support (operational, not coaching)
  • Serve as the day-to-day operational point of contact for EIRs.
  • Coordinate introductions and remove operational friction so EIRs can build.
• External relationship follow-through
  • Manage follow-up with corporate partners, investors, academic institutions, and service providers (e.g., CDMOs, legal, IP).
• Contracts and agreements management
  • Track key documents (MOUs, EIR agreements, option agreements, licensing deals).
  • Flag expiration dates and key milestones in coordination with Legal and Finance.
• Investor and partner communications
  • Draft updates, coordinate diligence requests, and prepare meeting materials.
• Systems and execution improvement
  • Build and run onboarding playbooks, reporting templates, and partner communication cadences.
  • Improve existing Alloy playbooks and create new ones where needed; leverage AI tooling to scale operations.
• High-priority one-offs
  • Own time-sensitive tasks such as research reports, competitive landscapes, regulatory filing coordination, and grant applications.

Requirements

• Execution-first, specialized generalist who translates strategy into operational action.
• Strong ownership of systems, trackers, cadence, and cross-functional coordination.
• Comfortable operating within a small, high-judgment team and running tight feedback loops.

Nice to Have

• Experience supporting venture studios, corporate innovation programs, incubation, or venture-backed startup operations.
• Familiarity with managing cross-functional logistics across Legal/Finance/HR/Operations and partner/investor workflows.
