Chief of Staff

Role Overview

Chief of Staff to the CEO at Nift. You operate as the “operating engine” of the company—removing critical execution work from the CEO’s plate by building systems, running decision follow-through, and ensuring the organization turns debates into shipped outcomes.

What You’ll Own

• Company operating rhythm: Run the cadence and substance behind OKRs, company and management meetings, and board/investor prep (not the logistics).
• Missing systems & light process fixes: Identify what’s unowned or broken (e.g., commitments not tracked, handoffs without systems, missing reporting) and build the lightest solution that closes the gap, starting with what moves the business most.
• Cross-functional execution: Own initiatives that don’t fit neatly into a single team, driving them to milestones and outcomes.
• CEO office communications: Partner with People and Communications leads to own the flow of internal/external messaging with one consistent narrative across the company, board, investors, and press.
• Signal vs. noise: Serve as an early-warning filter for the CEO—surface emerging issues quickly and tactfully while ensuring nothing important falls through the cracks.
• Executive team clarity & accountability: Help the leadership team operate with shared clarity, urgency, and accountability.

Not This Role

• Not an executive assistant (separate EA/project manager; no calendar/inbox/travel ownership).
• Not a strategy-deck role (focus on execution and outcomes, not producing recommendations for others to run).
• Not a COO (no direct reports/personnel authority; influence comes from judgment, credibility, and results).

• Default to action and demonstrate better ways by running them and shipping when the cost of failure is low rather than waiting for perfect.
