Chief of Staff

Role Overview

The Chief of Staff serves as a strategic partner to goop’s Co-CEOs and executive team, driving alignment, execution, and communication across the organization. The role represents the Co-CEOs’ interests across three “worlds”: (1) the goop business (beauty & fashion), (2) Gwyneth’s media presence, and (3) investment interests.

Responsibilities

• Act as a founder-mode operator with high agency, translating Co-CEO priorities into execution across teams.
• Manage and align priorities, communication, and momentum across a fast-moving, complex organization.
• Extend the Co-CEOs’ reach by proactively managing key relationships.
• Provide proactive, clear updates and early communication to keep stakeholders aligned.
• Own a high volume of board, portfolio, and investment-related work across the business.
• Be AI-first: build internal tooling and workflows (e.g., Notion dashboards, plugin/AI agent wiring, and converting no-code prototypes into operational systems).

Requirements

• Founder-mode operator: high agency, strong EQ, and the ability to act on instinct before being asked.
• Ability to context-switch rapidly across business, media, and investment interests within the same day.
• Exceptional communication skills across formats and audiences.
• Strong operational execution: drive structure, efficiency, and accountability.
• Sharp writing and research skills to produce concise memos, updates, and diligence work.
• Highly collaborative, warm, steady under pressure, and comfortable with direct/hard conversations.
• Trustworthy and discreet when handling sensitive information and critical relationships.
