Chief of Staff (m/w/d) – München

Role overview

As Chief of Staff (m/w/d) at nuuEnergy, you act as the entrepreneurial arm of the founders and help steer the company’s development. You will primarily ensure that the site leaders can run the locations effectively through clear systems and decision-making support—this is a builder role, not an administrator role.

Responsibilities

• Make the site model work: build a repeatable operating model so hubs run independently, economically, and with strong culture.
• Develop site leaders into true entrepreneurs: coach and strengthen technical leaders in leadership and organization, resolve conflicts in craft teams, and set/ensure standards without disempowering teams.
• Drive special projects from 0 to 1 quickly, and test/develop new business models using venture builder methods.
• Solve team/org problems independently (goal: most locations operate without founder involvement).
• Support personnel decisions, including separations when necessary.
• Measure and actively improve A-Player ratio within the team.
• Prepare and make cross-functional business decisions in collaboration with all leads, on behalf of the management.
• Represent the management in meetings, with team leads, and externally.

Requirements

• German C2 and based in Munich.
• Real startup experience (build/early-stage/growth; not corporate).
• Leadership experience: led people, built teams, and made difficult personnel decisions.
• Builder mindset: generalist who prefers building systems over managing/admin work.
• KPI-driven approach (manage with numbers, not gut feeling).
• Personal drive: hungry, high work commitment, and desire to build under uncertainty.
• Mobility/reisefreudig: willingness to travel to sites.
• Industry experience in areas such as heat pumps, energy, trades/construction, or decentralized service models (e.g., logistics, retail, franchise).
