About the role

Role Overview

Chief of Staff to the CEO at Swooped—a high-leverage, high-trust role serving as the CEO’s closest thought partner and force multiplier. You’ll blend operator instincts with strong communication, owning work that shapes how the organization shows up externally.

Responsibilities

Office of the CEO (Management)

  • Coordinate the CEO’s focus and priorities in alignment with organizational needs
  • Provide strategic external communications support (triage incoming communications, draft responses, ensure follow-up)
  • Field and triage meeting requests for the CEO; take meetings independently when appropriate
  • Prepare briefings and materials for high-stakes engagements
  • Act as a proxy for the CEO in decision-making and follow-ups; ensure next steps are completed
  • Partner with the CEO’s EA on scheduling, travel, expenses, and inbox management; optimize travel time for relationship-building

Communications & Marketing

  • Lead and own executive communications for the CEO, including thought leadership content via Substack, LinkedIn, and other channels
  • Steward and manage communications connected to the organization’s podcast
  • Own CEO/executive media relations, coordinating with the Comms Lead on journalist responses and proactive engagement
  • Support development of presentations and workshop facilitation materials to ensure the CEO is polished and on-message

Work Location & Logistics

  • Full-time, exempt role
  • Remote from anywhere in the U.S. with high-speed internet; preference for PST hours
  • Up to 40% travel within the U.S.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Baseline compensation range: $150,000–$175,000 (depending on experience)

  • 401(k) match: 4% vested immediately
