Role: Chief of Staff

Chief of Staff to the Managing Director at DAD (Dynamic Aid Delivery).

Overview

You enable the Managing Director to run the organization’s build by creating and maintaining the operating system that coordinates multiple departments and ensures decisions reach the MD with context, options, and recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Operating cadence: Design and run week-to-week execution (department-head check-ins, priority reviews, quarterly rhythm, and escalation paths).
• Cross-department unblocking: Track commitments across departments, detect dependency collisions early, and resolve issues before they reach the MD.
• Board & funder readiness: Prepare Advisory Board materials and founding/funder updates, including pre-reads to ensure meetings start with context.
• Decision quality & briefs: Write decision-support briefs with options, tradeoffs, assumptions, and what would be learned either way; track decisions and whether they held.
• Proof discipline & internal reporting: Build internal reporting on what shipped vs. what was discussed; call out gaps when metrics/dashboards don’t reflect reality.
• Special projects: Own cross-cutting initiatives without clear ownership (e.g., partnership processes, improving how DAD hires).
• Agent-native operations: Encode recurring workflows into agent-run processes so recurring work can be handed to agents.

Requirements

• 6+ years across roles such as chief of staff, strategy, consulting, high-growth operations, banking, product ops, or founding-team experience.
• Strong track record navigating ambiguity and leaving behind an operating system/process.
• Genuinely strong writing, with documentation that supports decision-making.
• Comfort with numbers and discipline to use only figures you can defend.
• Real fluency with AI tooling, including building workflows others depend on.
• Good judgment, confidence, and humility to be wrong out loud.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with AI-native operating/agent workflows and process engineering.
