Chat Product Manager

Role overview

Zoom Chat is seeking a Senior Product Manager to own the core messaging experience for Zoom Team Chat. You will shape how direct messages and channels evolve into simpler, more intuitive workflows, and partner with Design, Engineering, and Data Science to deliver AI-powered messaging experiences.

Responsibilities

• Own key areas of the messaging experience end-to-end: requirements → design → delivery → post-launch iteration.
• Define and drive the roadmap for improving core chat interaction patterns.
• Identify experience gaps using competitor and user research.
• Partner closely with Design on interaction details, information structure, and visual polish.
• Embed AI-powered capabilities into core messaging workflows (and translate AI feature decisions into product outcomes).
• Translate customer/support/research signals into clear product requirements and prioritized roadmap decisions.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Design, and Research to scope, sequence, and deliver on timelines.
• Communicate roadmap, tradeoffs, and progress to stakeholders across product, engineering, and go-to-market.
• Help ensure a consistent, unified chat experience across desktop, mobile, and web clients.
• Support scheduling needs for real-time collaboration with globally distributed teams.

Requirements

• 3+ years of Product Management experience with end-to-end ownership of a product or major product surface.
• Proven ability to ship AI-powered product features (not just AI-adjacent tooling), with strong product decision-making.
• Strong UI/UX sensibility, able to work closely with Design on interaction detail.
• Experience in messaging, collaboration, or communication products.
• Track record using competitor and user research to close experience gaps versus industry-leading products.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, including framing tradeoffs for engineering and executives.
• Comfortable using standard PM tooling for roadmapping, specs, and prioritization.

• Direct experience embedding AI into messaging workflows at scale.
