About the role

Role Overview

As CAD Product Owner at Motorola Solutions, you will own and manage the backlog for your assigned value stream(s) for the CAD product. You will partner closely with Product Management and Engineering to translate customer and market needs into actionable user stories, acceptance criteria, and roadmap contributions.

Responsibilities

Own and manage the CAD product backlog (user stories, defects, and research spikes)
Contribute to the product roadmap and refine initiatives/epics with the Product Management team
Define user stories and acceptance criteria in partnership with the Product Manager using technical knowledge
Coordinate with engineering teams to detail stories and ensure the backlog stays aligned to delivery goals
Review and prioritize the backlog for release and sprint planning, including dependency coordination with other Product Owners
Support release planning by reviewing vision and content for assigned engineering teams
Ensure proper backlog flow: features → user stories → acceptance criteria
Confirm story completion by validating acceptance criteria and compliance with the Definition of Done (DoD)
Collaborate with Engineering on sequencing and scope of research spikes for critical technological infrastructure
Participate in agile ceremonies and lead/participate in team demos
Work with UI/UX, and research/design colleagues to champion user and stakeholder needs
Integrate generative and agentic AI into the product lifecycle to accelerate documentation and improve story/criteria granularity
Use AI workflows to draft granular user stories and comprehensive acceptance criteria with consistent technical clarity
Automate repetitive administrative SDLC tasks (e.g., initial release notes drafting, alignment summaries, backlog templates)

Requirements

Demonstrated ability to deeply understand technical architecture and translate functional requirements into engineering-ready specifications
Ability to describe the customer impact of technical requirements, including implications for non-technical sales and support resources
Ability to manage multiple projects across the lifecycle (from idea to completed feature)
Strong partnership with UI/UX and research/design teams
Experience maintaining and refining agile backlogs and supporting sprint/release planning
Capability to validate completion against acceptance criteria and DoD

Nice to Haves

Experience integrating AI utilities/workflows into product development processes
Familiarity with documentation automation for complex system requirements and user flows
