Role Overview

Clover Health is hiring an early-career Buyer to join the Procurement team. This role focuses on hands-on procurement work, including supplier management, sourcing support, contract renewals, commercial negotiations, and contract lifecycle management.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers; act as the primary point of contact for vendor inquiries, renewals, and procurement requests.
• Partner with internal stakeholders (IT, HR, Finance, Marketing, Operations) plus Legal and Compliance to support procurement initiatives.
• Manage contract renewals and assist with sourcing, supplier selection, and procurement activities.
• Negotiate commercial terms such as pricing and payment terms.
• Perform contract review activities: assess commercial terms, identify risks, and support basic contract redlining in line with Procurement/Legal standards.
• Coordinate cross-functional approvers to facilitate contract review, approval, and execution.
• Maintain supplier, contract, and procurement records in the contract lifecycle management (CLM) system.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, approvals, and contracting/signatory processes.
• Support spend analysis, reporting, and continuous improvement across procurement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Operations, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 1–3 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, sourcing, vendor management, or contract administration.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Comfort leveraging AI and emerging technologies to improve contract review and procurement productivity with appropriate human oversight.
• Ability to facilitate end-to-end contracting: intake → supplier engagement → review/negotiation support → approval routing → execution.
• Sound judgment to escalate issues to Procurement, Legal, Security, Compliance, and Privacy as needed.
