About the role

Role Overview

Business Development Manager (B2B) responsible for driving B2B sales growth and expanding market share in an assigned territory by building strategic relationships with travel agents. The role serves as the primary liaison between Carnival Cruise Line and agency partners, delivering training, promotional support, and territory execution.

Responsibilities

Territory Management & Strategic Sales Execution

  • Design and implement territory management and business development strategies
  • Make assigned sales calls to travel agency accounts (volume not specified)
  • Conduct sales browses to support company initiatives

Travel Agent Relationship Building & Support

  • Foster and maintain long-term relationships with travel agents to drive sales growth
  • Maintain frequent contact with RVP/VP North America to ensure territory needs are met
  • Collaborate with the Strategic Partner Division on shared accounts

Training & Education

  • Conduct training sessions and webinars on offerings, promotions, and booking processes
  • Create and deliver training materials (e.g., presentations, videos, interactive content)
  • Support the channel through events such as ship inspections, trade shows, pier-side overnights, and seminars at sea

Marketing & Promotional Strategy

  • Improve promotional effectiveness and develop marketing strategies with agents
  • Provide promotional materials and recommend ways agencies can strengthen their marketing

Data Management & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate agency records using Oracle Sales Cloud or the current CRM
  • Complete required reporting and track budgeted tools

Budget & Co-op Management

  • Manage territory budget and co-op marketing needs in line with corporate guidelines

Requirements

  • Strong sales acumen and the ability to manage a portfolio of agency accounts
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Experience in travel industry account management or business development
  • Ability to operate independently in the field and represent the brand consistently
  • Proactive problem-solving in a competitive travel landscape, adapting strategies to territory needs

Nice to Have / Additional Signals

  • Ability to analyze performance data to inform decision-making
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional initiatives with internal teams (e.g., Strategic Partner Division)
