About the role
Role Overview
Business Data Analyst to support the Asset Failure Analysis team. You will analyze asset failure and historical performance data to produce forward-looking, actionable insights that improve reliability and help reduce wildfire risk.
Responsibilities
- Analyze business data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for operational efficiency
- Build dashboards, reports, and models for teams including compliance, operations, strategy, and wildfire risk
- Define KPIs with cross-functional partners and track performance against business goals
- Present findings to stakeholders in a clear and actionable format
- Support data integrity improvements and enhance analytics capabilities
- Assist with data extraction, cleaning, and transformation for reporting and ad hoc analysis
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Data Analytics, or related field
- 2+ years in a business analytics or data-focused role
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, charts, etc.)
- Proven ability analyzing and visualizing complex datasets
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Palantir Foundry (or similar enterprise analytics tools)
- Utility industry or infrastructure project familiarity
- Familiarity with SQL, Python, or other querying languages (plus)
- Experience with BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau
