About the role

Role Overview

Join Horizon3 as a Business Applications Manager to build and lead the BizApps function within IT. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on application administration, integration architecture, and AI agent enablement.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage the BizApps team, including:
- application administration
- integration development
- AI agent enablement
Set team priorities and operating rhythms, balancing:
- day-to-day requests and escalations
- integration/AI build projects
- long-term platform improvements
Act as a hands-on leader for complex builds, architecture decisions, and high-priority cross-functional requests.
Support business scalability and operational efficiency by translating business needs into technical solutions.

Requirements

Hands-on integration experience on an IPaaS platform (especially Workato, strongly preferred)
Experience managing cross-functional requests and driving platform adoption in a hands-on capacity
Strong integration fundamentals:
- APIs, webhooks
- REST and event-driven integration patterns
- understanding of data models and integration patterns
AWS experience (e.g., Lambda, S3, RDS, API Gateway, EventBridge, Step Functions or similar)
Strong stakeholder management and ability to translate requirements from non-technical teams (e.g., Legal, Finance, GTM)
Experience supporting a distributed/remote-first workforce
Working knowledge of access control, data security, and compliance (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001, export control) and collaboration with IT Engineering on IAM/SSO
Experience with collaboration platforms such as Slack, Google Workspace, Zoom
AI agent building/deployment experience on an enterprise AI platform (e.g., Glean, Claude, Gemini, AWS Bedrock), including connecting agents to internal data sources and applications
2+ years in a leadership/management capacity (people and/or project management)
5+ years in IT, business systems administration, or systems engineering
Jira / Atlassian suite experience
Experience administering enterprise SaaS platforms at scale (e.g., Jira/Atlassian); collaboration tools like Google Workspace/M365 preferred
Experience managing external contractors/vendors (scoping, oversight, quality control)
Deep hands-on experience building custom integrations/middleware with AWS services (beyond IPaaS capabilities)

Nice-to-Haves / Preferred Signals

Workato experience (explicitly preferred)
Strong experience with company-wide IT-owned SaaS/collaboration platforms
Prior vendor management for custom development work
