Business Analysis, Acquisitions - Principal Analyst / Manager

Role Overview

Join Mission Lane’s Acquisitions team as a Business Analyst (Principal Analyst / Business Analyst Manager). You’ll lead initiatives that improve underwriting and pricing strategies and help optimize acquisition strategy based on customer behavior and market changes.

Responsibilities

• Lead initiatives to improve underwriting & pricing strategies
• Use AI-driven tools for data analysis
• Optimize acquisition strategies using customer behavior and shifting marketplace conditions
• Develop actionable, financial, data-driven strategies to improve credit risk and profitability
• Seed and run market tests to better understand customer behavior and inform future growth investment
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Product, Data Science, Engineering, and Capital Markets
• Communicate and debate strategy and insights with senior leadership

Requirements

• Proven ability to problem solve end-to-end: framing the question/hypothesis → analyzing data → communicating results
• Familiarity with SQL, Python, or other data analysis tools
• 2–7 years of experience in a highly analytical role (typically 2–5 for Principal Analyst; 4–7 for Business Manager)
• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Economics, Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, or related quantitative field

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with credit cards or other consumer lending products
• Experience helping scale a business in a fast-paced startup environment
• Strong SQL/Python expertise
• Experience using AI coding assistants (e.g., Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, Cursor)

Compensation & Benefits (Summary)

• Principal Analyst (base salary): $125,000–$143,000 (USD)
• Business Analyst Manager (base salary): $142,000–$173,000 (USD)
• Potential additional annual incentive and equity
