Role overview
Brand Design Manager (People Empowerer) at Gusto leads a small team of brand and motion designers within the company’s in-house creative studio. The role owns creative direction, visual quality, and brand consistency across multi-channel marketing and campaign work.
What you’ll do (day-to-day)
- Manage, mentor, and develop a small team of brand and motion designers (set expectations, provide feedback, support career growth)
- Set creative direction and maintain visual quality across:
- campaigns, paid media, email, web, social, experiential
- product marketing
- Build and maintain scalable design systems, templates, and brand guidelines
- Partner with marketing, product marketing, comms, and creative leadership to prioritize work and translate strategy into visual execution
- Define and improve team workflows and processes to help the team move faster without sacrificing quality or brand integrity
Role requirements
- Leadership experience managing or mentoring design talent
- Strong brand design craft with an eye for consistency, clarity, and visual quality
- Experience translating strategy into multi-channel visual execution
- Ability to build scalable brand systems and operating workflows
Nice-to-haves
- Interest in an AI-native design organization, including using AI tools to prototype quickly and shorten feedback loops
