About the role

Role Overview

iCapital’s Distributed Ledger Technology team is seeking a Senior Blockchain Backend Engineer (Vice President) to develop an industry-wide private, permissioned distributed ledger for the alternative investment ecosystem. The role is highly visible and requires close collaboration with Engineering, Product, senior leadership, and industry partners.

Responsibilities

Design and implement a private and permissioned distributed ledger using DAML or Canton and other open-source blockchain frameworks.
Build and maintain RESTful APIs using Python and FastAPI.
Provide technical leadership: mentor engineers and guide the team.
Participate in standard SDLC activities including daily stand-ups and peer code reviews.
Stay current with blockchain developments and incorporate relevant improvements into iCapital’s ecosystem.

Requirements

9+ years of software engineering experience building enterprise SaaS cloud-based solutions.
3+ years of technical leadership/management experience.
Experience with DAML, Solidity, or other blockchain programming languages.
Python development with FastAPI (the posting also references “Toke”).
Strong understanding of relational database concepts and modeling.
Experience building APIs for large-scale applications (mentions AWS).

Nice to Have

Experience spanning distributed ledger tooling and multiple blockchain frameworks (DAML/Canton plus open-source ecosystem).
