Biology Research Expert — $65 $95 hour

Role Overview

Specialized part-time consulting role for biology experts supporting remote consulting projects. You will review realistic scientific scenarios, evaluate technical outputs, and produce structured, evidence-based written feedback.

Key Responsibilities

• Biology Research & Scientific Review
  • Review biology materials across molecular biology, cellular biology, experimental methods, and laboratory workflows.
  • Evaluate outputs against source materials, context, methodology, and defined review criteria.
  • Identify missing assumptions, methodological gaps, unclear reasoning, and expected outcomes.
• Experimental Design & Laboratory Workflow Support
  • Review experimental design and lab research scenarios (molecular/cellular techniques, sample handling, data interpretation).
  • Assess biological data outputs for accuracy, consistency, clarity, and scientific alignment.
  • Review structured lab notes, results, method descriptions, charts, calculations, and technical documentation.
  • Write clear explanations linking biology conclusions to verifiable evidence.
• Life Sciences Data Review & Structured Feedback
  • Create/review tasks and deliverables based on real-world biology workflows.
  • Provide feedback on scientific accuracy, reasoning quality, data interpretation, and technical communication.
  • Support evaluation workflows involving model outputs and research-style problem solving.

Requirements (Ideal Profile)

• Professional experience in biology, molecular biology, cellular biology, life sciences research, lab research, experimental design, biological data analysis, or technical reporting.
• Familiarity with laboratory experimentation workflows, scientific reporting, biological data interpretation, and technical evaluation.
• Strong ability to read and produce biology artifacts (research summaries, lab notes, method descriptions, results, data analyses, technical reports).
• Strong written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote, project-based environment.
• Degree or equivalent practical experience in a related life sciences field is helpful (e.g., genetics, microbiology, biochemistry, neuroscience, ecology, evolutionary biology, biomedical science).

Nice to Have

• Experience with molecular/cellular biology techniques, experimental design, data analysis, scientific modeling, technical writing, and research publication workflows.
• Some familiarity with specific lab techniques (text ends mid-sentence; mentions PCR).
