Role overview
BIM Coordinator - AI Trainer (independent contractor) Handshake is seeking experienced BlenderBIM (Bonsai) users to support AI research by evaluating AI-generated responses for accuracy and relevance to real-world BIM coordination and AEC data workflows.
What you’ll do
- Create tool-related questions based on your BIM coordination and BlenderBIM (Bonsai) experience
- Review AI-generated responses and provide feedback on:
- correctness and accuracy
- relevance to BIM coordination and AEC data workflows
- Support AI understanding by evaluating outputs involving IFC/native BIM editing, construction data management, and OpenBIM workflows/standards
Requirements
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with BlenderBIM (Bonsai) (professional or freelance)
- Working knowledge of IFC and OpenBIM standards plus construction data workflows
- Experience in one or more of:
- Native IFC editing and/or building data management with BlenderBIM (Bonsai)
- BIM coordination and construction data workflows
- OpenBIM standards
- Annotating/labeling BIM and AEC data assets
- Reviewing BIM models for quality, accuracy, or data consistency
- Strong written communication skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and follow written guidelines
Nice to have / notes
- No prior AI or technical experience required
- Flexible, asynchronous work; no minimum hours
Work model & location
- Fully remote (work from anywhere with reliable internet and a desktop/laptop)
- Flexible schedule, typically ~5–20 hours/week when assigned
- Ongoing, project-based placement; opportunities open periodically year-round
- Must be currently residing in the United States (F-1 CPT/OPT may be eligible depending on school requirements; STEM OPT not supported)

Handshake is running a year-round AI training program that connects domain experts with AI research projects. The work focuses on evaluating and improving AI-generated outputs related to BIM and AEC data workflows, using independent, project-based contributions.
