Bid Manager

Role overview

The Bid Manager is responsible for managing the end-to-end bid process for opportunities coming into the Stockton PXE facility. The role ensures all process gates and required documentation are completed, technically accurate, compliant, and reviewed before submission against customer deadlines.

Key responsibilities

• Own and manage bid submissions, ensuring the bid process is followed and opportunities receive diligent technical review.
• Take accountability for technical responses: review, prioritize, and action opportunities with the correct level of effort aligned to customer requirements and company strategy.
• Manage the bids pipeline to maintain accurate, up-to-date information for reporting metrics and KPIs.
• Partner with the Sales team to understand the company’s position on each opportunity and support customer engagement.
• Coordinate with internal departments to agree scope/effort and gather the right information for award-winning proposals.
• Maintain folder/structure organization for all opportunities to ensure information is stored correctly.
• Perform audits of the bid process and ensure required approvals are gained before submission.
• Conduct bid cost analysis to ensure costs are diligent, align with technical requirements, and remain competitive.
• Ensure bids are fully compliant with client requirements and instructions and meet internal rules and regulations.
• Support bid & tender tracking/logging centrally, in partnership with the Sales team.
• Ensure PX regulations are adhered to, including regional requirements and industry/scheme standards.
• Ensure proposal Health & Safety requirements are known and met.
• Drive continuous improvement to increase bid velocity and accuracy.
• Liaise with purchasing monthly to log changes and confirm competitive pricing.
• Work with the wider team to verify scope, time, costs, and resourcing.
• Understand the customer’s budget and price/sales expectations.
