Role Overview
Backend Software Engineer working on mission-critical backend services for a high-volume retail e-commerce and enterprise technology platform.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java and Spring Boot
- Implement new features, enhancements, and defect fixes in distributed backend applications
- Build and maintain automated unit and integration tests
- Participate in code reviews and technical design discussions
- Investigate and troubleshoot production issues related to application behavior and data processing
- Contribute to the reliability, scalability, and performance of backend services
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional backend software development with Java
- Strong experience with Spring Framework / Spring Boot
- Experience with distributed or event-driven applications, including messaging/event streaming such as Kafka
- Experience building RESTful APIs and backend services
- Strong automated testing skills (unit + integration, e.g., JUnit)
- Experience with relational databases and SQL, including schema changes and/or data migrations
