Role Overview

BJAK is hiring a Backend Software Engineer to build the core systems behind its AI Finance Agent. You’ll design and operate reliable backend services, workflows, and financial product infrastructure that scale across markets, partners, and millions of users.

What You’ll Own

Build backend services, APIs, and workflows for the AI Finance Agent
Support customer products across insurance, payments, wallet, savings, investing, travel, and other financial services
Design systems for user accounts, transactions, partner integrations, reconciliation, notifications, and operations
Collaborate with product and mobile teams to ship customer journeys quickly
Integrate with banks, payment gateways, insurers, data providers, and other partners
Improve reliability, observability, security, and performance
Build systems that are practical, auditable, and ready for regulated financial products

What We’re Looking For

3+ years of backend engineering experience
Strong fundamentals in APIs, databases, system design, and production debugging
Experience building scalable services and integrating third-party systems
Understanding of security, reliability, data quality, and operational edge cases
Ability to make practical trade-offs between speed, quality, and risk
Comfort working cross-functionally with product, mobile, operations, and business teams
Fintech/payments/insurance/lending/banking/regulated products experience is a plus
