Backend Platform Engineer | $85/hr Remote

Role Overview

Backend Platform Engineer for a remote, full-time, sprint-based project. You will complete and evaluate complex backend engineering tasks, including reviewing and validating model-generated code.

Responsibilities

• Complete and evaluate complex backend engineering tasks using coding agents
• Review model-generated code for:
  • correctness
  • code quality and maintainability
  • performance
• Identify bugs, edge cases, and failure modes in generated outputs
• Compare outputs from multiple models and assess strengths/weaknesses
• Apply engineering judgment to real-world backend engineering scenarios

Requirements

• Strong experience in backend engineering
• Strong experience building APIs and working with distributed systems, microservices, backend platforms, or databases
• Experience using coding agents and developer productivity tools
• Ability to evaluate model-generated code, including architectural tradeoffs
• Experience working on large-scale production systems
