About the role
Role Overview
Backend Node.js Developer with strong AWS expertise to design, build, and support scalable backend services and APIs. This is a remote (anywhere in the US) contract (W2) role, with an onsite interview at the client location.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Node.js.
- Build and enhance RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Develop serverless applications using AWS Lambda.
- Integrate backend services with databases, third-party APIs, and AWS services.
- Work with API Gateway, S3, CloudWatch, IAM, and SQS/SNS.
- Optimize performance, scalability, and security.
- Collaborate with frontend, QA, DevOps, and product teams.
- Perform code reviews, testing, deployment, and production support.
- Troubleshoot production issues and implement performance improvements.
- Follow Agile practices and CI/CD processes.
Required Skills
- 8+ years of backend development experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Node.js (mandatory).
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS (mandatory).
- Experience with AWS Lambda, API Gateway, CloudWatch, IAM, S3.
- Strong experience building REST APIs and microservices.
- Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL mentioned).
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience using additional AWS services beyond the listed core set.
- Deeper serverless architecture experience and production incident response maturity.
