About the role
Role Overview
Join Granular Energy as a Mid-Level Backend Software Engineer (full-remote). You’ll develop and support the platform that helps enable the electricity system transition to 24/7 clean energy.
Key Missions
- Develop, test, and ship new platform features
- Shape and define new product functionality in close collaboration with the Product team
- Improve team working methods and contribute to the team’s culture and productivity
Responsibilities
- Deliver well-tested backend functionality end-to-end
- Collaborate with Product to turn requirements into software
- Continuously support engineering best practices and team efficiency
Requirements
- 3–6 years of professional experience
- Strong knowledge of a high-level language such as Python, Java, or C#; willingness/desire to work with Python as a primary language
- Confident, safe use of AI to increase development velocity
- Comfort moving fast while maintaining quality and well-tested software
- Fluent English and strong interpersonal/communication/organizational skills
- Experience in startup and/or remote environments (strong plus)
Nice to Have
- Background in energy, commodity trading, or financial markets, including ETRM/CTRMs and front-to-back systems
- Relational database experience (especially PostgreSQL), plus time-series experience
- Data manipulation libraries such as pandas or polars
- Analytical/mathematical background
Location / Eligibility
Open to candidates in France, Netherlands, Belgium, mainland UK, and Germany.
