About the role

Backend Engineer (Wordbricks)

Location: San Francisco Bay Area Global Offices or Remote

Role overview

Build and maintain the core backend infrastructure powering Wordbricks’ AI-driven applications. You’ll develop scalable services and APIs, integrate/deploy AI models in production, and partner with the frontend team to deliver seamless user experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable backend services and APIs
  • Optimize system performance and maintain high availability
  • Integrate and deploy AI models into production environments
  • Collaborate with the frontend team to support user-facing experiences
  • Implement security measures and data protection

Requirements

  • 3+ years of backend development experience with Node.js and TypeScript
  • Strong experience with REST APIs and microservices architecture
  • Proficiency in database design and optimization using SQL and NoSQL

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with AI/ML model deployment and integration
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
  • Understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
