About the role

Role Overview

Design, build, and scale core backend platform services and APIs for high-traffic, user-facing applications. You’ll work on resilient microservices, database performance, and high availability in distributed systems, collaborating closely with product, frontend, and infrastructure teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop robust, scalable APIs and microservices (Python, Go, or Node.js)
  • Optimize data storage and retrieval using relational databases and NoSQL stores
    • PostgreSQL and (Redis, DynamoDB)
  • Implement asynchronous task queues and event-driven architectures
    • Kafka, RabbitMQ, or AWS SQS
  • Deploy, monitor, and maintain services in cloud environments (AWS or GCP)
    • Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform
  • Write unit, integration, and performance tests; participate in rigorous code reviews
  • Define SLOs and implement observability
    • Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana

Requirements

  • 3–8 years of professional backend software engineering experience in production environments
  • Strong proficiency in at least one modern backend language (Go, Python, Java, or Node.js)
  • Deep understanding of database design, query optimization, and data modeling in SQL and NoSQL
  • Experience building, deploying, and maintaining containerized services in AWS/GCP/Azure
  • Solid software design patterns, system architecture, and API standards (REST, GraphQL, or gRPC)

Nice to Have

  • Infrastructure-as-code (Terraform)
  • Distributed system tracing
  • Experience working in a fully remote, asynchronous team environment
