About the role

Backend Engineer

Design, build, and maintain the core backend services and APIs for high-traffic, user-facing applications. You’ll build scalable, resilient, and performant systems that support complex business logic and large datasets.

Responsibilities

Design and develop highly scalable, fault-tolerant microservices using Go, Java, or Node.js
Architect and optimize database schemas and queries for PostgreSQL, Redis, and NoSQL data stores
Build and maintain secure, well-documented REST and gRPC APIs for web and mobile clients
Implement monitoring, logging, and tracing using Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog
Write clean, DRY, well-tested backend code; participate in code reviews and architecture planning
Collaborate with DevOps to containerize with Docker and orchestrate with Kubernetes on AWS or GCP

Requirements

3–8 years of professional software engineering experience in backend systems at scale
Proficiency in at least one backend language: Go, Java, Python, or TypeScript
Strong experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and cache layers (Redis, Memcached)
Solid understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and asynchronous message queues like Kafka or RabbitMQ
Bachelor’s degree in CS/Engineering or equivalent practical experience

Nice to Have

Experience with GraphQL federated graphs
Experience with Kubernetes orchestration
Experience building financial ledger and billing systems
