Role Overview
Backend Engineer (Remote) working on sprint-based, short project stretches (12–24 hours) and completing backend engineering tasks using coding agents.
Responsibilities
- Complete and evaluate complex backend engineering tasks using coding agents
- Review model-generated code for:
- correctness
- quality
- maintainability
- performance
- Identify bugs, edge cases, and failure modes in generated outputs
- Compare outputs from multiple models and assess strengths/weaknesses
- Apply engineering judgment to real-world backend scenarios
Requirements
- Strong experience in backend engineering
- Strong experience building APIs, distributed systems, microservices, backend platforms, and/or databases
- Strong experience using coding agents and developer productivity tools
- Ability to evaluate model-generated code and identify issues/architectural tradeoffs
- Experience working on large-scale production systems
