About the role

Role Overview

Backend Engineer (Python) — Remote

Contract (hourly), approximately 20 hours/week. You’ll support a model-training project with a leading foundational model AI lab.

Responsibilities

Build and maintain complex, production-grade Python systems for real-world environments
Design modular, testable codebases using modern Python tooling and best practices
Use advanced Python features including:
- decorators
- generators
- async/await
- context managers
- performance tuning
Participate in a technical interview process focused on Python

Requirements

Experience working at top US tech firms
Proven track record building and maintaining production-grade Python systems
Strong understanding of Python fundamentals and advanced language features
Experience designing modular, testable codebases with modern Python tooling
