Backend Engineer (Node.js/TypeScript)

You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to help plan products and develop/enhance backend features. You’ll contribute across the software development lifecycle—from discovery to deployment—while building scalable APIs and maintaining customer-centric SaaS experiences in a remote-first environment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build seamless user experiences.
• Participate in product planning and contribute from discovery through deployment.
• Develop and improve features, building robust APIs and continuously enhancing products.
• Design backend systems for scalability and high-volume transaction performance.
• Implement secure API functionality (e.g., input validation, JWT, and queue-based patterns).
• Own projects while working effectively in distributed teams; communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

• 4+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong backend expertise: Node.js and TypeScript/JavaScript best practices.
• Experience building scalable backend systems for rapid growth and increasing demand.
• SaaS experience: experience with SaaS products running 24/7 on major cloud providers.
• API development skills, including security and scalability (e.g., JWT, validation, queue-based systems).
• Solid understanding of OOP and design patterns.
• SQL mastery, especially PostgreSQL (query optimization, data migrations, modeling).
• Experience with serverless architecture on AWS.
• Ability to design, code, test, and maintain application components.
• Strong remote collaboration skills (asynchronous, proactive communication) in distributed teams.
• Business-focused mindset and an understanding of FinTech challenges.
• Experience handling high-volume performance: concurrency, idempotency, and performance under load.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with at least one additional server-side language.
• Strong ownership culture and capability to drive shared success across teams.
