About the role
Role Overview
You’ll join a newly formed Growth Squad to run high-tempo experiments that improve key business metrics. This role focuses on the backend half of the squad, working closely with a frontend engineer and coordinating with teammates in Europe and the US West Coast.
Responsibilities
- Ship and launch backend experiments fast by building backend changes that test a hypothesis (e.g., pricing nudges, onboarding tweaks, credit-pack variations, enrichment result delivery flows).
- Work inside an existing Go codebase with targeted changes (including sometimes the billing and credit system), with the ability to safely back out when experiments fail.
- Promote what works by hardening successful experiments into production-grade improvements (clean up V1, add tests, improve reliability).
- Instrument everything by wiring in tracking to measure whether changes moved the intended metrics.
- Execute experiments directly in production—run several experiments per week, keeping those that work and killing the rest.
Requirements
- 5+ years of backend experience
- Strong Go backend development experience
- Experience building and evolving services via REST and gRPC APIs
- Working knowledge of event-driven architecture
- Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL
Nice-to-Haves / Context
- Comfort working in and modifying existing systems (not greenfield rewrites)
- Ability to iterate quickly and safely in an experimentation-driven environment
Compensation & Logistics
- Salary: $130K–$150K
- Visa sponsorship: Not available
- Remote policy: Eastern Time Zone (ET)
