About the role

Role Overview

Join Sparetech as a Backend Engineer (Enterprise Integration Focus). You will build and own integrations between Sparetech’s platform and customers’ ERP systems, working closely with customer engineering teams and Sparetech backend engineers.

Responsibilities

Enable fast and reliable integrations between Sparetech and customers’ ERP systems.
Collaborate with customer engineering teams and Sparetech backend engineers to ensure smooth data exchange.
Own integration topics end-to-end, including:
- architecture discussions
- defining API usage
- testing
- go-live support
- issue resolution

Requirements

3–7 years of professional software engineering experience.
Strong understanding of data synchronization concepts (e.g., polling, event-driven flows, retries, idempotency).
Ability to communicate technical topics clearly in customer-facing situations.
Familiarity with SAP data structures (e.g., IDocs such as MATMAS) and ERP/middleware architectures.
Ownership mindset: deliver reliably and proactively seek support when needed.
Background with JVM-based languages (e.g., Java, Kotlin, Scala).

Nice to Have

Hands-on experience with REST APIs and/or webhooks in distributed systems.
Comfortable debugging end-to-end using logs, payloads, and system traces.
Experience with SAP environments (e.g., ECC, S/4HANA) and middleware/enterprise IT landscapes.
Integration experience with ERPs other than SAP.
Exposure to SAP integration platforms/middleware (e.g., CPI, PI/PO).
Experience with observability, CI/CD, and cloud environments.
Prior customer-facing engineering or technical support experience in B2B SaaS.
