About the role

Role Overview

Backend Engineer for Stripe’s DEeP (Developer Experience & Product Platform) organization, focused on the IAM Login Services team. The team builds and scales Stripe authentication capabilities (including OAuth/SSO/SCIM) and extends the authentication stack to support AI agents.

Responsibilities

Expand and improve Stripe’s OAuth offering
Develop and improve SSO/SCIM products to increase adoption for enterprise users
Collaborate across Stripe to deliver a next-generation authentication platform across UI and API surfaces

Requirements

2–5 years of relevant experience
Experience with backend infrastructure
Experience building systems that scale
Familiarity with AWS
Experience with Java and/or Ruby

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience with IAM
Comfortable with ambiguity; able to drive clarity independently

Work Location / Remote Policy

Hybrid: office-assigned employees spend at least 50% of time in local office per month
Remote: must be 35+ miles (56+ km) from a Stripe office; work regularly from home
Relocation costs are not covered for remote locations
