Role Overview

Senior Backend Engineer (Node.js, AWS)

• Type: Hourly contract
• Schedule: 10–40 hours/week
• Location: Remote (United States)
• Compensation: $30–$80/hour

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize backend services using Node.js and AWS
• Architect and implement scalable microservices across distributed systems
• Integrate AI capabilities into backend workflows and product features
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align solutions with business objectives
• Write clean, maintainable, well-documented code following engineering best practices
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex backend issues to ensure reliability
• Communicate technical concepts effectively (written and verbal)

Requirements

• Strong experience building production-grade backend applications with Node.js
• Strong knowledge of AWS services for deployment, scalability, and monitoring
• Strong experience with microservices architecture design and implementation
• Understanding of AI integration in backend systems and workflows
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and take ownership in a remote environment
• Experience with version control and CI/CD pipelines
