About the role
Backend Engineer
Build and scale backend systems that power an AI-driven hardware device, including real-time transcription pipelines, intelligent APIs, and cloud infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Design and optimize RESTful APIs and PostgreSQL schemas for high-scale real-time data processing.
- Manage and scale AWS infrastructure for transcription and sync pipelines using ECS, RDS, and Lambda.
- Implement real-time capabilities with WebSockets.
- Maintain robust CI/CD pipelines using Docker and GitHub Actions.
Requirements
- 2+ years of professional backend experience with Node.js and TypeScript.
- Database optimization experience.
- Hands-on experience with AWS and building scalable, secure, cloud-native architectures.
- High-ownership mindset; ship clean, observable code in a fast-paced startup.
Nice to Have
- Experience building real-time systems and observability practices in production.
Location
- San Francisco, USA or Remote.
