About the role
Backend Engineer (Node.js/TypeScript)
Build and scale the backend systems powering an AI-driven hardware device, including real-time transcription, intelligent APIs, and cloud infrastructure.
What you’ll do
- Design and optimize RESTful APIs and PostgreSQL schemas for high-scale, real-time data processing.
- Manage and scale AWS infrastructure (including ECS, RDS, and Lambda) for transcription and sync pipelines.
- Implement real-time capabilities with WebSockets.
- Maintain robust CI/CD pipelines using Docker and GitHub Actions.
What we’re looking for
- 2+ years of professional backend experience with Node.js and TypeScript, plus database optimization.
- Hands-on expertise building scalable, secure cloud-native architectures on AWS.
- High ownership and ability to ship clean, observable code in a fast-paced startup environment.
Nice to have / signals
- Experience supporting real-time transcription pipelines and/or similar streaming workloads.
- Comfort influencing technical strategy in a high-trust environment with founder access.
